Veluwe, onverwacht weerzien

Regelmatig krijg ik de vraag of er nog een herdruk komt van het eerste Veluweboek (Onvergetelijke ontmoetingen). Er komt geen herdruk maar wel een compleet nieuw boek over de bewoners van de Veluwe en natuurlijk de diverse landschappen. Er is inmiddels genoeg kwalitatief en goed materiaal gemaakt om in het nieuwe boek op te nemen. Dat is veel boeiender dan een herdruk. Ik ben ruim twee jaar bezig geweest om de beelden bij elkaar te zoeken op onderwerp, sfeer, kleur, vorm, omstandigheden, type landschap, standpunt, etc. De foto’s beslaan een periode van 35 jaar fotograferen op de Veluwe. De meeste zijn de laatste 10 jaar gemaakt.

En natuurlijk zijn er nieuwe bewoners! Waarvan de wolf wel de meeste aandacht heeft gekregen. Afgelopen jaren heb ik veel tijd besteed om ze voor de lens te krijgen. De wisenten zijn er niet op eigen gelegenheid gekomen, maar zeker zo fotogeniek. Het boek doorloopt de 4 jaargetijden en er is veel aandacht voor dieren waaronder wild en vogels. Het formaat is gelijk aan de andere boeken (24 x 30 cm). Veel foto’s en weinig tekst.

Ik heb geprobeerd het weer beter te doen dan de vorige boeken. Ik denk dat het zeker is gelukt!

Frequently, I get asked if the first Veluwe book is going to be re-printed. There will not be a reprint. However, a totally new book about the inhabitants that live on the Veluwe and the various landscapes is in the make. In the recent years I have made enough good quality work to construct a completely new book. That is much more interesting than a reprint. Two years I have spent over two years compiling images comparing subject, color, ambiance, shape, moment, type of landscape, point of view, etc. The images are made in a periode over 35 years on the Veluwe. most of them have been made in the last 10 years.

Of course there are new inhabitants! The wolf has gotten most attention recently. The previous years I have spent a lot of time trying to get them in front of the lens. Bison, who have not come here on their own accord but are so photogenic. The book spans the 4 seasons and pays a lot of attention to game and birds. The format is the same als the other books (24 x 30 cm). lots of pictures little text.

I have tried doing a better job than on the previous books. I believe that I did!
