The Nikon F2 was introduced in September 1971, as a successor to the Nikon F. The F2 is faster than its little brother, the shutter release button is placed in such a way that it is easier to operate and there is a wide range of detachable metering buttons and finders available for the camera. The Nikon F2 is made in two colors: black and chrome. In combination with the MD-2 and MB-1, the camera shoots up to 5 frames per second. This camera comes with the Nikon Dp-11 and DL-1 Photomic Illuminator, which provides additional illumination for the meter needle.
