The Rollei twin lens reflex (TLR) where a fan favourite with press photographers and amateur photographers from the early 30’s till the late 50’s. Rollei still produced cameras after the 50’s but more compact 35mm cameras had taken over the photography scene. Rolleiflex is one of many different types of Rollei medium format cameras and is, to this day, still a fan favourite among 120 film shooters.
The TLR means that the body of the camera has two pieces of glass. One of which is used to focus through a the other to take the actual picture. This Rolleiflex does not have an internal light meter, so an external one is good to have in order to nail those exposures. There is also an abundant amount of apps that do the job very well. Furthermore the camera uses 120mm film and makes 6x6cm square negatives.
Because of the simplicity of this camera is great for someone that has a knack for analoge photography and wants to start experimenting with medium format.
