Pentax LX (often misspelled as the ILX due to the font) was developed as a professional camera. Its dust and waterproof dials and buttons are a testament of its professional build quality. The robustness of the body is not only due to its dust- and waterproof capabilities but also due to the materials used. the body is made out of a solid metal sheet making it vey durable. Furthermore the internal light meter enables the photographer to use the aperture priority mode. This enables the user to set the aperture and lets the camera decide the proper shutter speed for a good exposure. Of course the camera is able to be used fully manually where the user decides the shutters speed as well as the aperture.
The fast 50mm F/1.7 lens is a great all rounder. It can be used for anything ranging from landscapes to portraits, to street photography. As an added benefit, with the aperture wide open the bokeh is buttery smooth and beautiful. Therefore the camera is great for anyone who wants to start taking analoge images. the quality is professional but the camera is very easy in use.
