The Nikkormat FT was Nikon’s way into the consumer category of SLR cameras. Considered to be the little brother of the F series Nikon launched they contracted a large following. Professionals enjoyed the Nikkormat FT for its smaller size and accurate shutter. The camera was so reliable that later in its life professional photographers leaned more towards the FT type Nikons rather than their flagship models. This made the camera even more popular and a great following waas created. The camera is sturdy and has a properly working light meter which makes taking images easy breezy. Another good feature is that there are many lenses for sale on these models. If you want to change the look of an image a different lens is just an internet search away.
This camera is fitted with a fast 35mm lens. Great for street photography and good for portraits with some environment. The recommendation we give for this camera is for someone who wants to start analog photography and needs a decent camera for it. However a seasoned shooter could also easily be a great fit for this camera.
