Mamiya is a very famous photography brand. They have produced many top of the line studio cameras that are still in use by professionals today. The Mamiya 645 is no exception and a great starting point for the beginner medium format photographer. Because of the large format film the detail one gets when shooting this camera is awesome. Furthermore the aspect ratio is peculiar and always makes for interesting compositions. An 80mm f/4 lens is fitted to this body, because of the larger film plane this is the equivalent of a 50mm lens on a regular 35mm film. Perfect as an allround lens, for portraiture or landscapes for example.
This camera is for the more advanced beginner or the advanced film photographer. It is easy to learn how the camera operates and if you know your way around it it is almost impossible to not make great images with it.
