The lower contrast values contribute to a wide dynamic range and a neutral tonal scale for greater colour accuracy, and a low D-min helps to ensure brighter, whiter whites.
Ektachrome is known for its beautiful colour and, like most slide film, has super fine grain, rich saturated colours, and is great for daylight shooting.
For being slide film it has decent exposure latitude and does well with portraiture as well as landscapes. When shooting with this film it is highly recommended shooting in even light and pay close attention to your exposure.
Like any other slide film, Ektachrome delivers bright, vivid colours. Compared to Fujifilm’s Provia or Velvia, the overall image tone is slightly warmer and the skin tones are more realistic.
Compared to the Ektachrome E100 that was on the market a few years ago, this emulsion offers a moderately enhanced colour saturation with a neutral colour balance and a low contrast tone scale.
