The Bronica is an affordable top of the line medium format camera. It competed with big brands like Hasselblad and Mamiya back in its hay-day. With its 5 by 4 centimeter format the negatives it produces are very large compared to the standard 35mm film. This makes for amazing detail in its images and makes bokeh silky smooth. The standard 75mm lens is approximately a 50mm equivalent in field of view for the 35mm film equivalent.
This camera does not have an internal light meter making it pertinent to have an external light meter on hand when using this camera. Although this camera is easy to use and focus the lack of a light meter might make is a bit of a hassle to use. Therefore we recommend this camera to the more advanced analoge user or to a very persistent and motivated beginner.
This camera is best used for studio work and landscapes. As said the negative is filled with fine detail and can be blown up to make huge prints. It will not come as a surprise that the medium format has always been loved by fashion photographers and the Bronica used to be a brand favorite name.
